When can I use it?
Soon. PK Fishing and PK Golf are on the way.
Do I need to download it from a store?
No. PK Fishing runs in your browser and can be added to your home screen so it opens like any other app. A Play Store version is something we would like to do later.
Does it work on my phone?
It works on current Android phones with Chrome and on iPhones with Safari. On a computer, the same link shows a dashboard.
Does it work when I have no signal?
Yes. Timers and catches are saved on your phone and sync when you are back online.
Who can see my fishing spots?
Only you. Your venues, map pins, local-knowledge notes and the GPS position of your catches are private. There is no public map of spots. Anglers who follow you see your catches, photos, species, weights and badges.
Why log blanks as well as catches?
Because a catch rate needs both halves. If you only log fish, every bait looks perfect. With blanks logged, Insights can say "9 fish from 14 casts" and compare like with like.
How does Insights know what works?
It only uses your own logbook. It counts the fish and the casts for each rig, bait, hook, time of day, moon phase, pressure and so on, and it holds back advice until there is enough data to say something fair.
Where does the weather come from?
From Open-Meteo, a free weather service, using the position of your venue when you log. It is for information only and is not a safety forecast. Use your own judgement around water and weather warnings.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Use "Delete my data" on the Profile tab. It is removed from the live database and cannot be recovered.
How do competitions work?
An organiser creates a competition and anglers tag their catches to it. Standings update as catches go in, and a spectator link lets anyone follow along without an account. See for organisers.
Which golf formats does PK Golf support?
Stroke play, Stableford, match play (two against two or three-way), Betterball Stableford, Alliance, Bingo Bango Bongo and Piekfyn Kompetisie.
